National Nanny Recognition Week is Sept 22-28th. Hopefully you have thanked your special nanny for helping to raise your children.

Yes, she's getting the entire week off. But we aren't paying her. She did a very poor job shining my husband's shoes last week. And the wax job on my Mercedes? Dreadful.

Lol just kidding.
I've never heard of this. She's thanked daily.

Wow, what I'd give to get a simple "thank you"!

I wasn't really aware of this week....so I doubt my bosses know either! Lol! I'll send appreciation flowers...to their house...for me

Didn't even know there was a "National Nanny Week" Lmao.

Haha never heard of this either, I'm assuming a couple Nannies started it. I'm lucky that the family I work for thanks me often so I already know I'm appreciated. However I would find it weird if they were like "In honor of Nanny Recognition Week, we'd like to thank you!" But if it's nice to be recognized no matter what so have at it!

This was started by the owner of Nanny Care Tribe, most do not know anything about it.

Actually it was started 15 years ago by 2 agency owners, then the (now defunct) National Association of Nannies took it over. It was passed on to several members of ADCAN when NAN folded.

And NAN was owned by Nanny Care Tribe Owner

My very first nanny job that last 6 years actually celebrated "me" the day after mother's day. I would get gifts, flowers and a spa day.

My nanny friend also gets prezzies on Mother's Day! Both her and I are 24hr nannies, and our charges Mom's see them no more than 15 a day. It's nice to be recognized on our OWN day or week. Nannies are held in such crap regard my American society, media, and especially this board. But like it or not, we are helping (or in some cases, solely raising) raising your children! What an extremely important job!!!
