Best place to search for a temporary Nanny?

I have to travel out of the country for about a week. I would like to hire a nanny to help my wife out with our three small children while I am gone. What would be the best way to find a temporary nanny? Would an agency be best?

You and your wife should ask everyone you know. Trusted personal recommendations are best. Agencies are a crap shoot and cost a fortune.

I may know of someone if you are interested. A friend of mine just had to let her nanny go because the kids were going to
school. She was with them for almost 3 years and has over 20 years experience. I know that she is looking for part time work until she can find a permanent position. My friend hired her from White House Nannies so I know she has passed all of the required background checks. Let me know if you would like her contact information. An agency would be best, however you will have to shell out a pretty penny for it. If you can afford to, then by all means do it.

If you do not have the means to go that route, I suggest Care.com or Sittercity.com.

Or if you could get a referral from a trusted parent even better.

Stay away from Craigslist however!!!!!!!
