Desperately looking for a nanny privately or through an agency RSS feed

Anonymous
We've been with an Au Pair agency for years and have had it with them. They're unprofessionalism and lack of accountability has pushed our last button. We're leaving the program, but still need a full-time nanny ASAP.

Does anyone recommend any good domestic nanny agencies or recommend anyone they've used in the past?

Very Desperate here.....

I can recommend www.MetroParentRelief.com. We use them for emergency or fill-in care when our nanny is out and we've had great experiences. Staci Smith is the owner and she's very responsive.

Tell her Elizabeth w/ the twins recommended her.

Good luck!

We also recently used Stacie with metro parent relief to find our regular nanny and Stacie was fantastic. She sent us excellent candidates and we found our fabulous nanny through her. I would highly recommend her as well.

I've seen the ads for Divine Nanny on DCUM. They seem like a reputable company, I'd contact them and see if they are able to help you/what their rates are, OP.

Funny- I just worked with Divine Nanny a month or so ago. Marie (the owner) was a nanny for my Godchildren many years ago, I only met her once during that time but when my friend  recommended her, I felt good about using her company.

Anyway, details. I needed a part-time/after school nanny. I really had no clue what I was looking for in a nanny and no clue what it involved (I was a SAHM until recently). To make a long story short, Marie was professional, answered every question I had, gave great advice about the nannies, and always made sure to keep me informed. I really liked that I didn't have to spend hours on the phone with her, with my schedule it was so much easier to text and e-mail.

We hired one of the nannies, and Marie has kept in touch with both me and our nanny to ensure things are going smoothly. We also have a 60 day guarantee so if it doesn't work out, they will replace our current nanny for free.

The only bad was that some interviews would get cancelled last minute. I don't blame the agency (Marie was apologetic), but it was slightly annoying to have nannies calling off the interview.

If you have specific questions,  I'll try to check back and answer. And if you contact Marie, tell her Amelia S. sent you her way.

PP, if you were looking for just PT/after school then that could be why you had nannies cancel on you. They probably had several other interviews and ended up taking one of the others before the interview with you.

Families tend to interview and maybe go over a few candidates and then decide in a few days. If you as a nanny have a few families you have interviewed with and one of them wants an answer from you, it's hard to push it off so you can still go on to other interviews. You usually just choose from what you have interviewed for already at that point.

Since most schools start around the same time, you have a market flooded with positions that people are hiring for very quickly.
