MB doesn't have kid in right car seat.Do I say something?

My charges are 3 and 5.The 3 year old in MBs car has a convertible car seat and 5 year old has a backless booster.I had the 5 year old with me the other day and was meeting MB so I could get 3 year old, and she drives up with 3 year old in the backless booster.Not only this,but with the chest strap behind her back.She is a VERY young and small 3 year old and I almost had a heart attack but didn't say anything about it.Should I bring it up? She does this pretty often when she only has the 3 year old and lets the 5 year old sit with the strap behind his back too. It just freaks me out.

Yes, say something. Perhaps phrase it as "you know, I was just reading in a magazine the other day how kids can get pretty hurt if they are in boosters too young". It will be a tough conversation but the details you shared indicate it is virtually as dangerous as not having them in anything at all so you as an adult need to take a risk on behalf of the kids' lives.

I want to say no but.. Older kid was in a booster before age 4, and dad has used the booster with younger kid before too. Neither kid was ever in a booster with a back. They wanted to give me the booster with no back for my car but I wouldn't do it and spent $15 for one with a back. Also, I make older kid have the seat strap in front of her chest when I'm driving.

I'm in a similar situation. My boss has both kids in boosters with no harness, just the car seat belt. They are four and a small two year old. The youngest is way to small and when I brought it up she just shrugged it off. In fact she wants me to give the 2 year old in a booster in my car.
