I had an interview last night for a job that I really want.
I always write a thank-you email after an interview but never know exactly what to say. Nannies-what do you say in your email? |
You need to say more about the interview.... |
No she doesn't , PP.
Keep it simple, OP. Thank them for the interview, OP. Let them know you're enthusiastic about the interview and maybe highlight one or two reasons you think you are a great match for the position. Close by telling them you are looking forward to hearing from them about the position. Good luck, OP! |
Thank you PP! |
Yes, this is perfect advice. If there was something specific that you discussed in the interview that you've given more thought, you can follow up on that also. (For instance if a parent is specifically interested in or concerned about something and you have some relevant experience, or gave it some thought and had ideas about activities that might be fun for Johnny and help build his social skills, etc...) Good for you for doing the letter in the first place. So few people do this (whether in the nanny world or in my professional non-profit gigs) and it's a huge pet peeve of mine. A well written thank you note matters a lot to me as an employer. Good luck! |
I would thank the family for their time and let them know you enjoyed meeting with them. Say something positive about their child or children if they were present during the interview. For instance, little Sally was so silly...that you hope you get the chance to spend some time laughing with her and getting to be goofy with her, etc.
Make sure your spelling is good, your grammar and punctuation is correct and keep it short and sweet. |
