Hotel sitting without agency?

I was thinking of checking out a couple hotels in my area and leaving my card in case any parents staying would ever want services. Without an agency, cost for the parent would be lower. Have anyone ever done this? Would hotels even be open to this or it would be a waste of time? Of course I feel like I have appropriate qualifications: legal, DL and reliable car, First Aid and CPR Certified, non smoker, professional references available, clear background check.

I doubt a hotel, a decent one at least, would do anything like this.

Well, i remember staying at Intercontinental in San Juan, Puerto Rico. They had nanny/babysitting services onsite which i used. it was wonderful to be able to have dinner with just my DH. Intercontinental is a respectable hotel for sure. I do not know how that hotel went about hiring the nannies whether through an agency or not but I do think that OP should try

I doubt any reputable/chain hotel would do this without proof that you are bonded/insured or work for an agency. Maybe try some smaller independently owned places, but I don't really think that many businesses are willing to be liable for the risks that could be involved (financially, safety wise, etc.)

Most hotels, particularly higher-end ones, already have services they refer guests to. Some hotels refer guests to local nanny agencies who can provide a temporary nanny or evening sitter. Others might refer guests to an agency such as American Childcare...an agency with three locations in this country that supplies temporary nannies and babysitters for traveling families.

It's too risky for a hotel to refer a parent to a random nanny who has dropped off a business card. That's why they refer guests to agencies who have already vetted the nannies/babysitters they send out on hotel jobs.
