I am leaving my long term nanny position at the end of this week. I'm not a crafty person so a scrapbook or something isn't really my style. Do you give a gift to your charges when you leave? I thought of putting a picture of us in a frame for each of them (they are 5 and I've been with them for 4 years) but I don't even have a pic of the three of us ![]() |
Well, if you don't have any pics w/ them then why not go have photos taken? You could have a fun outing to one of those photo places in a mall, get some great shots, and then get them framed. The kids could help pick out the shots and frames that way which I bet they'd really enjoy. |
Go to a photo booth and do several sets (then you can keep a set too) and do various combinations...all 3, kid A and you, kid B and you, just the kids etc. Do funmy faces, serious etc and it will be fun. Get a long ribbon, some mini clothes pins or fancy paper clips and hang them up for them. Done. |
For a non-photo option, I always give blankets to each of my charges after I leave, with a card that explains "This blanket holds all my love for you! Every time you start to miss me, wrap up in this blanket and you'll be wrapped up in my love!" Parents love it, kids love it--It's a win-win!

Thank you for the suggestions!! I got a cute pic of the 3 of us today and they're excited to pick out a frame to put it in. |
