I am interviewing potential nannies this week and I'm wondering what kind of questions I should ask. It's not or first nanny but we hired the previous nanny under unusual circumstances so I never officially interviewed her. She was wonderful but we moved to another state and now I need to officially interview potential candidates. I'd appreciate any constructive advice. Thanks!

Google is your friend when looking for interview questions.

I would ask about her experience, what she appropriate activities she would do with your child and if she is looking to work on or off the books.

Make sure you discuss your expectations with every potential candidate. If you want laundry done, food prepared, be upfront and clear with what your family needs.

I would want to have at least 3-4 references and make sure you ask them about their experience with the nanny. I'd want to know how reliable she is, if she was on time every day and if she was the type of nanny who is set in her ways or open minded to supporting your family with your child rearing beliefs. It's very important to have a nanny who is on the same page as you as far as sleep training, child's schedule, and finding someone who is going to actively engage with your child and not sit on the couch all day and watch tv.

Good luck!
