It has been YEARS since I have interviewed.
My job is coming to an end and I have to begin interviewing.
Could you explain the process for interviewing?

I've noticed that many jobs do not post wages.
At what point in the interview process does/should that come up?
When someone contacts me and asks if I am interested in the job, do I respond with a simple yes?
Should I send my phone number?

Please forgive my inexperience. I'm trying to brush up.

If someone sends you a genuine email and not one of the automated messages, you should respond that you're interested and include a little additional information about yourself. You should also suggest setting up a time to speak on the phone (first step before suggesting an in-person interview). Either during your email exchange or during the phone call you can decide whether to 1) ask what they're hoping to pay or 2) tell them your hourly range of compensation. This gives both parties time to decide if this relationship is worth pursuing before setting up an interview. The official, formal offer obviously won't come until after the interview (provide your references AT the interview, typically near the end when you're sure you want the job, and expect them to call your references later) but you'll all be on the same page by that point.

As for the automated things, I get them too and have no idea what to do with them. I always say no (because I've never gotten one I'm interested in) so I'll let someone else explain what to do if you want to say yes!

Good luck on your job search, OP!
