Calling Troll

Anyone who reads these threads has to have noticed that we seem to have one/a few posters who insist on calling troll on just about every post. Yes, the comment usually just gets ignored, and yes, I should just read it and move on, but seriously it's getting really annoying. It contributes nothing of value and just baffles me. If you don't enjoy a particular thread, or have anything of use to add to the discussion, can't you just ignore it?
I guess what I'm trying to get at is what the heck is the point of calling troll on (almost) every single post? And could whoever you are just please stop?

It's definately more than one person who recognizes a troll who gets off on silly postings and watching you all get into a tailspin about her fiction. It isn't you, is it??

This has to be the most immature group of women I've ever come across in an online forum. I agree it's enough with the Troll comments, and I also think that there's at least 1-2 people in here (MB's) who really like to stir the pot. I wish Jeff could clear the air and block the toxic people from being able to post.

Mind you that some people post from several different sources (with sock puppeting), so how would you control them?

There seem to be several people calling out trolls whether they are correct or incorrect. As long as people keep coming here starting fake posts to create trouble, other people who don't like it will call them out. It's the internet and that's the way it goes.

I think there are more trolls here due to the anonymity of the forum.

There appears to be one mb in particular, who calls troll everytime someone disagrees with her opinion, especially when she can't provide any support for her argument.

Case in point is the "market rate myth" mb. She insists on exact figures for her so called "market rate", but never offers a single bit of evidence to support her claim. All she can do is insist that certain anonymous posts on this board is what magically establishes "market rate". She discounts any nanny who says she earns more.

Hint: Established market rates are based on verified data, not random claims made by isolated groups of people who may wish to inflate or deflate actual figures.

The problem is there have been some confirmed trolls, and one was confirmed by Jeff to be a nanny. So often times when someone calls "troll" on the thread, it is because of those people who make up posts just to cause trouble. So legitimate posts, even if crazy, don't sound true because of the troublemakers. Those are the ones you should be annoyed with, not the ones who have trouble believing crazy posts.

As for the posters who call troll on anyone who disagrees with them, yet I agree that that is very annoying.

Unfortunately Jeff doesn't seem to come around here very much for anything. I kept waiting for a comment on the late nanny whose supposed physician employer looked up her medical record. Several posters said they reported it. Nothing from Jeff confirming anything. Basically this forum has become nut fest gathering ad revenue for someone who never even looks at it.

You are one of the troll callers because you're the (anonymous) DCUMER who has used the phrase "gets off" a few times before. Why does it bother you so much? Do you really sit on DCUM all day waiting for a new thread so you can post your useless, overused response? You're just as bad as the trolls who post fiction tales. Give it up.. I like to respond to threads even knowing they're most likely fake questions.. I pretend that they're real because there is a chance it may be real and I'm not too worried about it. You're the reason the traffic in this section has dwindled down dramatically. People are afraid of getting called names and being judged. Grow up people.

Also, you call troll on EVERY thread.. Even the ones that seem truly legitimate. You worry WAY to much about it. There is a REAL world out there full of liars and cheaters.. Go call them out

When you click the "report" button where does it go? Straight to Jeff? There's nothing in website feedback about the medical record MB, and when I reported something else yesterday he addressed it within 5 minutes, so I don't think he's totally absent.

I agree that the constant troll calling is a little annoying. Sometimes it's obvious but someone did it yesterday on something that didn't even seem like an "out there" post... I can't remember now what it was.

Because why would Jeff take that down? As messed up as the actions of that empoyer were, s/he didn't break any of the DCUM rules. The poster wasn't being vile, racist, threatening, etc. She wasn't giving out names or private information so there is no reason to take it down just because you don't like the employers actions. You users are much worse with your harsh, judgemental replies to most of the threads.

He may have addressed it with you privately but he didn't address it here publicly leaving all the other posters to wonder whether or not they were responding to a troll post.
