Our amazing nanny has been with her partner for 10 years I believe and went through IVF and is now expecting her first child. We couldn't be happier for her! She will definitely be part of our family forever and we will be so so sad when she leaves for maternity leave. She will be staing home after the baby is born and we will be in search of a new nanny which I am so sad about.
When I was telling some other moms about our amazing nanny at a Mom's group this week, I was shocked to still receive judgement from 2 of the moms in the room that I would "allow" a lesbian influence around my daughter. Are you kidding me?? It's 2013 people! Teach equality to your children!! Sorry, more of a rant than anything else.... |

| It's sad ppl still feel that way. I work for a wonderful lesbian couple and couldn't imagine anyone making a comment like that around me. I would personally just tell those women that you believe in equality and love. I'd than never allow my children to play with theirs lol... |

The things my very religious mother had to say about the amazing lesbian parents I worked for caused a huge fight and discussion on ignorance.
Is because of people like her that I keep my sexuality private. (You can imagine how much my mother loves my partner- though she HAS learned to be nice and respectful in her presence at least- and even likes her when she can "forget" we are more than friends.  )
