What is the going rate for occasional babysitter for 2 kids? |
It depends on the ages of the kids. Also you are you hiring? A teenager, college student or professional nanny. The rate I would say is $15-20. |
You really have to find the person you want/trust, and ask. In the DC area, it can be $10-30/hr., lower for students and higher for professional experienced nannies. |
$15 an hour for a college student, closer to $20 an hour for a professional nanny who babysits on the side. |
$12 for college student, $14/hr for a nanny. Not more than $15/hr. |
$30? For an occasional babysitter? For 2 kids? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for the laugh! |
$15-17/hr. for a nanny, less for a student. |
So you're one of the nannies planning to keep your same rate for ten years? No thanks, not for me. I got passed the 20/hr a long time ago. |
$12-15 for college students. $15 for most full-time nannies seeking extra babysitting hours on an occasional basis. Some nannies do request more than $15, but you'll find lots of good, experienced candidates at $15.
I've heard that high school students typically get $10, but I have not personally confirmed that. I've also know a family that pays $17.50 per hour for their kids' daycare teacher who moonlights as a weekend sitter. |
And yet you can't spell "past" correctly. ![]() |
I'm a nanny who sits on the side and I've always charged $15 for sitting despite the fact that my nanny rate surpassed that long ago. As a college student I would have been thrilled with $10/hour and a free pizza for what amounts to putting kids to bed and watching TV. |
