Price for services from a law school graduate. Are these some of the same people bitching about $30/hr nannies? Seriously? And you say your children are the most important thing in your life? If that's true, put your $$$$ where your mouth is, and shut up.
Don't even try to pull the "overhead" or "partner" or "nonprofit" crap. |

Yawn. |
Hee. $30/hr nannies. That's funny. |
^^ I actually get paid $30/hr, but I'm in Los Angeles. |
Lots (not most) nannies earn that in NYC and even in the dc area. |
Why do you think you are paid so high? |
30/hr is not so high for a top-notch professional nanny in a big city. It may be on the high end, but not all that uncommon for wealthy families. |
That is ridiculous. Who pays a nanny $30/hr. 10 it should be |
Lots of parents demand the best, and can afford it. |
Would you mind elaborating? I live in west LA and am considering whether my college-educated nanny merits a higher rate.. |
It's silly to compare a nanny to a law school graduate. Some nannies haven't even finished high school, much less college.
And in the United States, how many law school graduates do you know that cannot speak English fluently? Because there are plenty of nannies that do not speak English fluently (if at all) who are still hired. It's apples and oranges. |
11:09 missed the point. No one said that a nanny should be paid the same as a lawyer. |
$300/hr for just 40 hrs/wk is over 600,000 / yr.
This is just the pay for 99% of lawyers out there. (Hint: what /some/ lawyers charge is a lot more than they actually earn.) |
