I'm grateful for my child"s nanny because... RSS feed

I know I'm not the only Mb who reads these boards and then gives thanks for her own child's loving nanny and a good nanny/Mb relationship. So here's some Thursday morning, spring"s on the way positivity and well deserved thanks:

I'm grateful to my child's nanny because:

* she really does care about my son - worries for him when he is sick, wants to know the boring details of his last well baby visit, asks to see pictures of him on the visit to grandma's house, and gets down on the floor and in the mud to keep him entertained;

* she communicates with me well, both likes and dislikes, concerns and compliments;

* every morning when I hand over my child, he is happy to see her, and those fat little wiggly legs flailing all round in appreciation when she scoops him up for a hug makes me so happy

* her start time is an hour earlier than I have to be at work, so because of her, I get to have a completely uninterrupted and worry free shower, and can enjoy my morning cup of coffee before heading off to work - she provides the only "me" time this working mama gets all day; and,

* even after a year with us, she's still as enthusiastic as when she started (which I was as excited about my job after a year!).

She knows how grateful I am, of course, but I thought I'd reinforce it here. You're the best, J!

This is so sweet and made my crappy morning! Love to see my charge banging on the baby gate and giggling when I walk up the stairs in the morning!

Very nice to hear from a MB. You are very lucky to have a great nanny who cares so much for your son. The little boy I nanny for comes running to me every morning I get to work. His smile truly brightens my day. After a weekend away, I'm always telling my MB/DB how much I've missed my little guy. Thanks from bringing some positivity to what's usually a negative forum.

Thats so lovely! One of my favourite mementos from my last job is an email my MB sent me after a tough week at work (for her) thanking me for all my hard work that week.

I'll add...

- Because DS is overjoyed to see her when she shows up and she seems genuinely happy to see the kids as well.
- She worries over them when they are sick and sometimes even calls to ask about them on the weekend if they were in really bad shape on Friday.
- I do not worry about them while at work.
- Although i work hard to minimize OT requests, she is always open to working it if needed.
- She is 100% punctual every morning and very reliable.
- She takes seriously the fact that she is helping raise my kids and doesn't just "mind" them for the 10 hours a day she's with them.
- She's been with us 5 years and although like any relationship thta long there are little irritants on BOTH sides, we hope to keep her for at least a couple more years and she hopes the same.

Love this; thanks again, OP. It reminds me of every wonderful MB I've been fortunate to have, and how much I learned from each one.
