Besides letting them "paint" with yogurt.

I feel like there isn't much they can do, craft wise.

You can play with jello as a sensory activity. Playing with mashed potatoes also makes for a good activity.

You can do finger panting (best to do right after a meal so that they aren't hungry and aren't likely to put it in their mouths).

They also might be interested in play-doh.

You can have fun in the tub -- buy a pack of glow sticks and throw a bunch of them into a bath tub then turn the lights out.

You're right. There isn't much try can do. Try reading books, instead.

I was literally trying to come up with ideas last night. So thank you OP for the thread.

I like the glow stick idea!!!! Will try that one

Also if they aren't ready for play-doh you can put play-doh inside of a balloon and then tie the balloon off so that they have a "stress ball" type of thing. Get to feel the play-doh without you worrying about them eating it or getting it into carpets, ect.

Also, you can try making discovery bottles: http://kidsactivitiesblog.com/activities-for-one-year-olds/

The above link goes to a bunch of activities for one year olds but some of them would be appropriate for 7 month olds as well, especially discovery bottles which are explained on that site.

I am the PP who has left multiple ideas in two separate posts and it is not as easy as one may think it would be to find crafty activities to do with very young children. Most people will just tell you do to something else with them. I have dozens of ideas of things to do with infants and young toddlers but it has taken me hours of scouring google and pinterest to find these.

Agree with PP, because I have googled and googled for hours and come up with very little by way of activity ideas for babies. OP, do what you can do and remember that it will only be a few months until they are mobile and ready for more exciting stuff. Don't worry about just providing safe, loving care and playing with their regular toys.

7 months is pretty young. Are you required to do crafts with them? I personally would wait until they are a little older and focus more on developmentally appropriate activities.

With all young kids its about the process not the product. Make a baby friendly sensory table (you can even sit them inside of it). Once it gets warm and they are a little older, do water play outside (and you can do water "painting" with chunky paintbrushes on the surfaces outside).

I've also heard you can put marbles in a can with paint and secure the lid on and let them play with it. It creates a painted product while letting them play.

Keep in mind EVERYTHING will go in the mouth.
