Child care options for toddler and baby RSS feed

My husband and I are expecting our second child in the coming weeks. Our daughter is just about 2 years old and is in a nanny share with another child roughly the same age. While it would make life much easier to just have our nanny care for our 2 year old and new baby, I want our toddler to continue to spend the work week with a child of her own age, someone she can learn from and play with. Our nanny has already said she doesn't want to care for three children. So, we're looking at entering into another nanny share for the baby or daycare options. Anyone out there with a similar experience? Thanks!

Why not put your daughter in classes with children her own age or pt preschool that way you can have your own nanny and daughter still gets to socialize? Having two shares or putting a newborn in daycare is an unnecessary hassle and possibly more money. Your daughter will need to adjust to her new sibling anyways and doesn't need a playmate all day long. With the right nanny she will be engaged and probably enjoy more one on one activities with the nanny while the baby sleeps. Going to classes or having playdates everyday will give her enough interaction until she enters preschool full time in about a year or two.
