It always seems like there are tons of jobs until you actually have to start job hunting RSS feed

I always keep an eye on what jobs are on offer and it always seems like there are a ton of jobs until I actually had to start looking. Once you have to match start dates with the end date of your current job the number of jobs seems much less

Half the jobs are complete non-starters offering minimum wage or less! A good number lack any type of guaranteed hours or PTO. The rest are jobs that involve a bazillion kids in multi multi family nanny share, part time positions, or other strange things. You are lucky to find a few normal job positions that every nanny in a 3 state area is trying to get. Wait until you get to the final interviews and find out that you lost out to a nanny asking for several dollars less an hour. Good luck.

I'm the OP and I'm a nanny (not an agency worker), who's position is ending and I have two months to find a new position. But now that I have seriously started looking for a new position it seems like most of the jobs I would be a match for want me to start at the wrong time!! Its really disheartening

I am a live in. But I have somewhere to go (between jobs). I just want to minimise the time between jobs so that I don't have employment gaps and can make payments ect
