| Hi all- we have a relatively new au pair who we love and want to show our appreciation over the holidays. We make it a family rule not to give money or gift cards, so although I am sure we will give her a bonus, ideas on actual gifts would be much appreciated! Any ideas? Thanks!! |

I understand you don't like giving money or get gift cards but if she likes movies for instance, a movie gift card might be useful ... Same thing goes for Starbucks cards ...
I used to be an Au Pair and would have appreciated a bonus because it was tought sometimes to live on the pocket money ... Something else that could be useful to her : a basket with her favorite treats ... |

| Make sure she has winter clothes, scarfs, boots, etc. for the upcoming cold weather. Some au pairs don't think to bring warm clothes. |

I like giving theme gifts.
Basket with scarf, gloves, hand warmers Hot chocolate, travel mug, biscotti Popcorn, movie snacks, DVD she likes Fuzzy socks, warm robe, hand cream |

I often do this, if anything. Small or consumable gifts are the best, spattered in with GIFT CARDS! Sorry to bust your bubble but most APs dont need more junk to lug home. |
