I want to make her something with the girls (1&2) but not spend too much, prefer an easy craft, with like their handprints or something. Any ideas? |
With my nanny family, we have the tradition of making the birthday boy or girl a special meal. We do breakfast, but packing her a lunch to take to work, or making a family dinner together would work, too. With kids that age, you could have them help make drop biscuits from a mix and a salad and heat up some packaged soup. They can both help wash veggies and mix the biscuits.
We also always make cards for MB or DB on their birthday. I find the cards are preferred to more 3D projects because they can be tucked into a folder, rather than needing to he displayed or thrown out. |
Just have them make a card. No cost to you at all. They draw a picture and if verbal enough they can tell you what to write on the card. It is not your job to spend a lot (or any) money on a gift to MB or DB from the children. The other spouse will do this. If they acknowledge your bday then you could always get a card or small present- think candle/lotion- from you. Do not give them a gift card- this is tacky and weird. |
My nanny has made us photo collages or a poster through a photo shop (maybe even CVS or the like). They are great since MB's often don't have time to do stuff like that themselves. |
