My birthday present?? Lol. RSS feed

I personally would quit this job immediately w/out notice OP!

Reason being is that they value you so little, to actually tell you in one breath that they paid your entrance fee is your birthday present then in the next that while there, you will be in charge of the care of their children.

WTH??!
If your Dad Boss actually thinks you are so empty headed to believe he is doing you a good deed then this shows you clearly what he thinks of you.
And the answer just does not bode well for your working relationship for now and in the future.

I could/would not work even a day w/this type of disrespectful employer.
If he sees you as just a charity case, then he certainly does not deserve you at all……..

Demand a cake? You sound like a spoiled brat.

OP wasn't bothered by the gift until her friends laughed at her.

Geez PP, I think this went over your head big time. It is clearly obvious that this comment was meant to be sarcastic.

Then they should learn how to use proper sarcasm.

Once I had helped a family with extra hours watching their daughter while the mom was giving birth and it was around Christmas and my birthday ...

The mom wanted to thank me by giving me for the three occasions ... a "sling" to carry her baby around. Meaning I could keep the sling after using it for her baby for other babies under my care with other families ...
I said no.
First I do not want to use a sling for a baby that's not mine and second this is not a gift for me. Just pay me my extra hours and you don't have to give me a Christmas/Birthday present if you don't want to, that's fine.

So their gift to you was to let you take care of their kids at an amusement park for half a day? I mean, these parks are expensive, but the gift was for the kids obviously. You were just doing your job as always, but at a much more difficult venue.

No matter how she felt, it wasn't a gift. It was another day on the job.

I could give you a shirt that is full of holes and dirty; it's still a gift.

I could never work for any family that would present me with a “Birthday” gift like that. It would be better if I didn’t receive a gift at all. lol

“”This is your birthday present……?””

How about “”Here are my walking papers!””
