No you’re not! Nannies work inside the child’s home. You are an unlicensed home daycare as you bring the children to your home. There’s a difference and you are not a nanny. |
Op could even a lot more $$$$ if she got the license for home child care.
How you considered that, OP? Years ago, I quadrupled my income that way. I eventually hired an assistant. I made sure my tuition rates were higher than any local preschool. All parents paid a full month in advance. Everything was of the highest quality, and of course zero screen time. Ever. |
Op wants to cash out while bringing into another child in her home and calling herself a “nanny” believing it’s a nanny share which it isn’t. OP has no plans to get a license as she believes she is a nanny and she isn’t. She should be happy with 20$ for 2 considering she’s watching them in her home and doing whatever while keeping an eye on the children |
Caring for kids in your home is a liability. There may already be laws you are breaking. In Md. you need license to care for a child in your home, with inspections.
Make it easy on yourself and work in other people’s homes. |
It is necessary to make sure children are in a safe environment. It's important to be informed of home day care rules and to have specific insurance. For the amount of work needed, $15 per hour per child sounds acceptable. |
Nannies get $30 per hr for 1 child if they go through the agency. Why would you take care of 2 for $30? |
