A lot of nannies do side jobs after hours; I met quiet a few in Bethesda neighborhoods that were single moms and needed the extra money to support their families. Grandma at home watching the kiddos.

Yoooo some people have anger issues , what's there to show off by wearing a scrub, after all one uses their money to buy the scrubs and they prefer to look professional and comfortable while playing with kids in dirt.Would you prefer to wear your nice clothes while playing with kids ,your choice.

My nanny wore a scrub when my child was a baby. I bought her three sets in the color of her choice and she accepted but was not excited about it.

Two other nannies I interviewed before her both were offended that I would even ask?!

My guess is nannies don't like having a dress code, it makes them feel like wearing a uniform and they don't want to be looked at as the help.

Why would you require them to wear scrubs? That's not professional looking for anyone outside medical.

Scrubs can be more expensive than regular clothing. As long as the clothing is washable, who cares.

This has got to be the dumbest question ever asked!

Im not a nanny but I am a teacher in an infant room at a preschool and the staff chooses to wear scrubs because we deal with bodily fluids/germs daily and this way we can just put on new scrubs throughout day if needed. Imagine leaving work and meeting up with friends for dinner or running errands and theres baby vomit or poop on your shirt/pants. Yep, thats why scrubs are awesome.

They have a Ph.D. In nannying if they wear blue scrubs; Masters are a green scrubs; bachelor's are pink scrubs. All other scrub colors are non degrees.

Nanny's are wearing scrubs now? Oh lord. I can think of a million jobs where you can get dirty or should be clean and none of them are wearing scrubs- except medicial professionals. It sounds to me like some are trying to present themselves as nurses or something they perceive to have higher social standing. I'd honestly think it was crazy if I saw someones nanny wearing scrubs unless they are baby nurse.

nannies do have a high social standing. They take care of this country's future.
