Nanny Rates Rant RSS feed

However, the nannies who post here oftentimes come across as people who hate their employers, constantly criticize their workplace, and generally fail to act like equal, responsible grown-ups who have agreed to terms of employment, while also being free to re-negotiate any terms, in a constructive manner.

Feel like you are in a position to ask for a raise? Then ask for it and make your case. No reason to rant like a rabid animal.

A replacement parent?! A nanny is childcare. She keeps them safe until their parent gets home. She is not a parent of any kind.

If the only requirement is to keep the child safe, not interact, entertain, feed, take care of then minimum wage is plenty.

We hired our former daycare teacher and she's now making more with us than she did at daycare and it's quieter and easier and safer.

yes, many daycares are open but guess what... Most parents are afraid to send kids there, and many, many will keep kids home this fall. So, pandemic-minded nannies are in great demand.
