Our nanny is very much a professional, and she has taken it upon herself to do tons of chores. She's educated and had a 25-year career with a respected corporation. |
No one believes this. |
| ^^ I agree. I do not believe this either!! ^^ |
Who’s providing the childcare while the cleaning lady is scouring your toilets? |
Bull feces! |
|
Oh these Hillary types... women for women? Bullcrap.
No one believes an educated woman is doing chores while she is raising your child. |
I do. Quite possible she is middle-aged, had a long career but was then side-tracked due to her age and wound up fired or early retired. Getting hired as a middle-aged woman in corporate America is not easy. She may love kids and decided being a nanny was a nice change of pace. |
| I’d pay her what I’d pay the other half of a nanny share in a similar situation. No more than $14/hr. But, if she ended up actually being a good household manager with her baby tagging along, I’d offer a raise to keep her. |
| I’d pay $15 per hour at most. But I wouldn’t expect much in terms of cleaning. |
Honestly, I don't care whether anyone believes me or not. She retired because she had put in her 25 years and had built up a nice pension, which she will start collecting this month, at age 59.5. She had other options, and doesn't even need to work, but chose to be a nanny because she enjoys it. We happen to pay her well, and she happens to be amazing at what she does. |
