Why would you need 8 seats? You, 3 2s, 3 4s, that's only 7 seats. If the parents work together to find seats that fit, it can work.

New poster here, but the nanny with a minivan that you quoted is correct.

If the van seats 7, that means that only 5 seats can be occupied by the young children--because the other two seats are in the front (driver and front passenger.) You wouldn't want to put a 4 year old in the front passenger seat of a minivan.

While this nanny's suggestion appears to have considered a lot of the logistics, I would really doubt these families could agree on all this. Joint van sounds like an insurance nightmare too. Better to have separate nannies or forget it. Our home daycare center had fewer kids, so it's not really a daycare situation anyway except even daycare requires guaranteed hours where we live.

OP, any nanny who could actually handle this job would UP-charge you so you would pay more in the share than you would solo.
