What a crummy thing to pull that on you all so close to your vacation.

Her selfish act here speaks volumes of her character & work ethic.

I would be miffed that she doesn't have an oz. of decency or respect to at least discuss the issue w/you prior to your trip.

She isn't responding because she KNOWS theoretically she is 100% in the wrong about this.

Do send her a message that effective immediately, she is formally terminated from working for your family.

She collected her final money so no other contact w/her will be necessary.

You may have to spend a significant portion of your vacation starting fresh....Looking for a replacement nanny.
Perhaps you can do initial interviews via FaceTime if possible.

So sorry this happened to you + your husband OP.
Hopefully you can find someone else soon, one who will be more considerate & mature!
