I think you should give her a flat rate of $100 seems fair for both parties.

| OP I'm a nanny, and I'd like to think I'm more mature and reasonable than most of the ones posting on here. I had an MB have contractions and need to get them checked out. I got the call around 7 asking if I was home and explaining the situation that she MAY go to the hospital, and then got the call she was for sure going around 11. They were home around 2:30 am and I slept on their couch. I did not accept any money for that because everyone needs a hand once in a while. In your situation where you're going into knowing you might need help and it might impact my ability to take on another evening or weekend job, I'd charge my regular rate plus a flat rate for overnight. The people calling you a cheapskate are just rude and I seriously doubt they'd do that in real life. |
regular rate or overtime plus flat? I would be dubious about going in and not charging at all, but in your situation, I would probably have just asked them to tack on one hour of overtime to the normal paycheck. I've had two MBs for whom I did favors, then they expected similar things every time, so I won't do it gratis again. |
| All hours over 50/am are paid at OY rates for live out nannies. No r captions for sleeping hours. This is Federal law. |
