I think you need to be pretty careful not to come off as stalkerish OP. You're making some pretty significant leaps here and you don't know anything about the parents involved, their situation or specifics, etc... The nanny could be doing lots of things really well (though sleeping and eating and schedules do seem pretty basic.) But I would be uneasy with a nanny approaching me in the manner you outline. I do like 19:22's advice though - that seems upbeat, not presumptuous or judgmental (or indicating that you have too much information) and like the most that would be appropriate for you to do. |
From an MB with my fair share of great and not so great nannies. You need to back off and MYOB. A lot of what you are claiming is hearsay. You do not know this nanny personally well, the parents situations, etc. I think you should worry more about your job and a little less about hers.
I would laugh and be weirded out if you were to approach me. Nanny poaching is wrong and putting yourself up for a position that is already filled makes you look desperate and stalkerish. I would not pay you any mind. MYOB and do your job. I've had one overweight nanny that was the best we have had. She was overweight due to a medial issue and was very active with our infant and toddler. Two of the slim nannies were the laziest and uneducated nannies we've had. I would love to know how you would feel if the roles were reversed. Get over yourself and get a life. |

And you know this based on? One conversation with whom? Sounds like you want a new job in your hood, that pays more (bc shares do pay more). Just try to speak with the moms. |
I would just focus on finding a better position on your own. The neighborhood list serve is the way to go! I have found many fabulous positions and tem jobs on them. Also sign up with the agency that shes with that way if the job becomes available again you will know. |
Oh please let me know, I have yet to find n agency that wants to handle me due to "too many shortened positions." Of course, they don't seem to care that I contracted for exactly that time period... |
Yes this. If you want a new job then go look for one. As an MB, I would never consider hiring you if you approached me as you suggest (including tracking me down at home--I can't begin to explain how wrong this is). |
As an MB I'd be skeptical of a nanny trying to sneak off with another nanny's job and also willing to ditch her current 18 month old twins without a second thought. |
