I had a very pleasant interview with White House Nannies but, like several here, I never heard back from them. They also did not return my calls.
I suspect it is because, with 50 years of experience taking care of children, I have definite opinions about childcare which I am not afraid to express. I also charge more than the average. My advice: Don't rely on any agency for work you can do yourself. Good luck! |
I'm really surprised that they're still in business. |
. Thank you and goodbye WHN!!!!! |
I use WHN all the time. There are actually two sections - one permanent placement and one that is temporary. I've only used the temporary and have had nothing but exceptional service.
In fact, my DD absolutely loves one particular nanny and we use her regularly. WHN charges us $35 each time we use her. We pay her directly at $20/hr. Of all the nannies we have hired from WHN, she has actually been the lowest hourly cost. We used someone else for a while at $25/hr but then she raised her rates to $28/hr which I thought was too high - especially for one child. And that was in addition to the WHN fee. |
If she charges $28/hr., it's good that some nannies are highly valued for their skills. |
Except that the PP isn't using her anymore, so her skills really aren't that valued. |
How do you know who may value her skills? Jealous much? |
Huh? Jealous of what? That she lost a client over $3/hr? |
For all you know, she got better offers. You're allowed to be mad. |
+100 |
Good that she gets $28/hr. |
Nannies earning a decent living makes my day! ![]() |

I worked for the WHN Temp side and I was very happy with the jobs they gave me. I was making my own schedule-only accepted jobs on the days I wanted to work, and had only great great families that I worked for. It was a very nice summer for me in between permanent jobs. I am still in touch with some of the families. |
