That's standard, unless of course you are already paid a 2-child rate, then might be less. Feel free to price yourself out of the market entirely. most DC nannies would love a $50 or 75 or 100 /week raise. |
If she is assisting you in childcare duties, then I wouldn't charge her. Many people may not agree w/me on this, but I just wouldn't feel right about doing that.
Yet, if you are doing the majority of childcare while she runs errands, showers, naps or whatever, then YES charge her more. Caring for a newborn is a ton of work so you should be compensated accordingly. Hope this helps. Good Luck. |
Toddlers are more work than sleepy, poopy, easy-bottle-feeding infants.
OP sounds like an immature prima donna. |
You mean childcare of both children or one (ie tag teaming). What does it matter what the mom does as long as nanny is only watching one of the children, or briefly both. Just do your job; childcare. |
Go away, Fat Troll. |
+1 Fat Troll has called the nannies posting "petty" in four other threads today. I swear this chick posts just to make MBs look like assholes. |
Most second child raises don't start until the nanny has full responsibility for the second child. Fair or not fair, that is standard. |
We were in a share and our nanny was being paid to take care of one child from my family. When I left her with the baby, I took the toddler and didnt pay extra but if I left her with both, I paid for the extra kid. She didn't get a raise when I was done with maternity leave bc the toddler went to preschool and she still had 1 child. |
Good idea, OPs MB should just put the toddler in preschool until 3 or 6pm and keep OPs rate the same. One immobile baby. Then pay a different rate on preschool days off. |
