Care.com deleted my account? RSS feed

Sorry you had that happen to you, yes you should call Care.Com, it is true they do not have to give you a reason for the delete but if you come at them from a positive attitude they usually are helpful.

If you already have in your mind to try and shut them down and threatening lawsuits, there is a good chance they will sense that in your voice and not help you.

Call Care and play stupid. It worked for a friend of mine, her account was deleted, and she knew it was because she had turned down a family who wanted to pay less than minimum wage. The family reported her, made up a bull story, but when she talked to the woman at Care, she told the woman the rest of the story, and the family's profile was deleted and hers was reinstated.

The other issue might be that a background check got information mixed up. I had to call the company that ran mine and jump through hoops to prove that I was never arrested. While reading on Care, I noticed that deletion is automatic for certain things in the background check, and if it's an error, they allow 90 days for it to be cleared up.

Perhaps is was due to a glitch since you did nothing wrong OP.

Does Care.com have some 1-800 Helpline you can contact where you can speak to a live person? Or a customer service e-mail address?

If you do get connected w/someone, they should be able to reinstate your account if they feel it was terminated by mistake.

I wouldn't try taking them to court however. I am not confident that you would have a case here.

What did she say? I called and the guy said it was terminated and nothing he can do.

I ran my background check a week before and it came back clean. I know it was nothing on my end.

They should be able to give you a reason, at the very least. My friend played dumb, told them that she had been thinking about what she might have done, tried to figure out what might have happened, mentioned the family with the illegal wage as an example of the only thing she could think of. The woman said that she would check into it, but I'm betting the only reason she was reinstated was because the family's post clearly stated a weekly rate and number of hours, and when it was calculated, it was below minimum wage.

Honestly, I don't know what to tell you. I would call back and ask to speak to a manager if it were me.

That poster isn’t hiring a lawyer, since she posted EIGHT YEARS AGO.

I am sorry op you are going through that. I read many reviews where many child care providers complain about care.com.

Mine logged me out because I didn't pay the annual background check fee

Did it say why you were shut down? If you were really not at fault, you should be able to work it out but I have no experience in this matter. I just know that other non-babysitting sites use some kind of computer formula to detect people doing stuff they are not supposed to do and sometimes the computer formula doesn't work and shuts people down. But if you are really innocent, there is some way to get it all back after calling them.

If you are at fault, then you shouldn't have.

Care.com is full of it. They did the samething to me. Funny thing is the family I ended up working for, I found them on sittercity, and they complained about care.com closing their account too.

The same happened to me. 15 yrs on there with glowing references and they wouldn’t give me an explanation. I had just renewed my membership and they wouldn’t refund it either.
