Nannies, have you ever disliked a charge?

Yeah, I had a 4 yo boy who was treated like a little prince by his parents. He would drop his sippy cup, walk away, then demand "Bring me my cup, NOW!"

I think I may have been the first person to ever tell that kid "No."

I've had parents tell me that nobody is allowed to tell their child no. To clarify, I always ask if it's about phrasing (ie. Can you walk and hold my hand please instead of No! stop running all over the grass!), but most of the families really don't want anyone to tell their child no in any form... I always wonder how they will do in school, but I won't take the position, so I'm left to wonder.

I'm the Pp you quoted I do the same. I rarely say no, I phrase it in a different way.

Sorry hit enter too fast. The mom reads this board.
Just think the type that are incredibly condescending. Talk down to most people. Talk about money, who paid cash for what. When I started this kid would actually lift his nose in the air and me and walk away. The mom was controlling had an eating disorder and stayed critiquing everything I ate.
