The housekeeper is paid more than I am.

I pay my nanny more than my housekeeper. I need my nanny to act like a professional 100% of the time, and I am willing to pay more for that. I am not saying that my housekeeper doesn't act professional, but if she misses work a lot or is chronically late, it hardly impacts me at all. I understand where pp are coming from in that it is demanding physical labor.

Doesn't sound like you are paying your nanny "more", you just sound like you are exploiting your housecleaner.

That's fair. I pay her more than I have to. As in, I could certainly find someone to do it for less. But the amount I pay her is probably less than what her work is worth to me.

IMO, your question sounds demeaning to housekeepers; why should they get less than you? I'm a nanny with a college degree and working on another one, but I'm happy with our housekeeper getting $200 a day twice a week bec she really works so hard to keep the house clean and tidy.
