You say you have a week (about) of PTO plus 2 weeks of vacation. I agree it would make sense for the PTO allotment to equal a full work week for you though.
Doors that include sick time or is sick time viewed as just part of the PTO?

The most common package is 1 week of PTO at employer's choice and one week at Nanny's choice. Then a few days of sick leave too. Your offer is not that far off unless they expect you to use PTO even on days the Feds are closed which normally means conditions are pretty dangerous. Have you asked if even fed closure days would require you to use PTO?

I am not good at negotiating. Anyone have a nice way for me to say I a not comfortable using my limited pto for bad weather days?

Personally, if MB/DB did not have to go in to work bc of bad weather, I'd want to have that day off and paid and not from PTO. If I was making the call myself that I did not want to brave the weather, then I think it's reasonabl to come from PTO
