NP, but I try to only attach to the kids and not to the parents. I am friendly and we do the small talk dance, but nothing deeper than that. I care for the kids to the best of my ability, and I conduct business with the parents. Of course it still breaks my heart if I for some reason can't make it work with the parents, but keeping a business only relationship with the parents and not falling into the "part of the family" trap makes it easier to seperate when necessary. |
| Being that far apart on your approaches to discipline never works out. You can try to talk to the parents but if they're already being condescending regarding how you discipline their child (sing-song voice and telling you not to take something from their toddlers hand is condescending) chances are there is no middle ground to meet on. Polish up your resume and start job hunting. Good luck! |
