Maybe it took a long journey for you to get to that place of security with it, but basically you’re secure with it, just like others are secure with a female nanny. Bringing it up all the time just makes you seem like it’s REALLY REALLY IMPORTANT that we all agree with you in order for you to be secure.

+ 1 Yep

I'm glad someone else found this annoying, as well.

The MB has already explained that that is what her manny refers to himself as. She isn't being condescending to him.

Are you also annoyed when male nurses call themselves "murses"? Because I know several of those.

OMG really?! This was worthy of a post? If you don't like it, don't read her posts. As PP said, she has mentioned in several posts that is how he refers to himself. Are you jealous of her "manny." Because I can't figure out why else you would care.

Are you sure there is only one manny poster?

It makes me wonder if she is constantly thinking about his penis.

Male nurses that call themselves murses is just as stupid. Do they have an RM license instead of an RN license?

OMG please tell me this is not true! A nurse is a nurse. If I was in a hospital and a guy came up and said he would be the "M"urse on duty today I would ask for a new Nurse. If a guy is embarrassed that he is a nurse or nanny and has to change the name than they should really re-evalutate what they do in life. Do females, who take on predominately male roles, change the names ??

The term manny has been in use for at least 25 years. I have had male friends who referred themselves as a manny. Yes, this woman has a manny. For those of you who are annoyed by it, get over it.

I was always annoyed by this too and wonder why oh why she has to refer to him as such in every.single.post. Every time. So weird.

Yes it's annoying. More than anything the "manny" label makes her posts so identifiable, and from what I gather, she is an awful boss though she seems to like him. Very take take take, but doesn't feel the need to give him anything.

you mean like firemen being called firefighters? Mailmen being called postal workers/mail carriers? Flight Attendants used to be referred to as Stewardesses.

Do you really not see the difference?

FireMEN, mailMEN, and stewardESS all denote a specific gender. Of course we should not call females fireMEN, or males stewardESSes. Where in the word nanny does it specify female?
