Sorry to hear it OP. FWIW, don't write off all older candidates just based on this one experience. An older experienced nanny will know what she's getting into and you won't have this issue.

Our nanny will turn 60 this year and she deals with our twin toddlers better than anyone I've ever seen.

Perhaps this failure was more about her never actually having been a nanny, than it was about her age.

Good luck finding a better solution!

I agree! Mature candidates with nanny experience have always been very reliable for us. Sorry you're back at square one, OP!
