| Dog 'hating' nanny here- I'm not employed to care for dogs, I am a child care provider. My dislike of cleaning dog hair, pee, poo and puke all day says nothing about my ability to care for a HUMAN BEING. |

A bit dramatic response, don't you think? Enjoy your 4 cats while you sit home on day nights, weirdo. |

OP, please please ignore this knucklehead. I am pretty sure he or she did not read your complete posting. For the record, the OP WAS told about the dog...She stated that the dog just recently started acting out. Duh!!!!!!! OP: I would talk to the parents about the dog's behavior right away. Let them know he is just now starting these odd behaviors and that it is making your job a little more difficult at best. Ask for suggestions as to what to do to manage the three kids and the dog. Also, stress to them that you are not doing anything different lately...The dog is just acting different lately. Hope this helps out. Best of luck.

| talk to the parents about the dog, but i'd try positive reinforcement like what you do when you're puppy training. if he pees outside where he's supposed to, make a BIG show about what a good dog he is. praise him in a cheerful, happy tone and offer a treat IMMEDIATELY after he eliminates his bladder. when he pees inside, don't yell or scold, but don't show any signs of being happy. it's frustrating, but i'm sure it can be handled. also, if he hasn't peed in a while, take him out and try to wait until he goes, and then do the praise + treat thing again. maybe he's just not used to you yet; dogs can act out just like children. |
