This seems ridiculous to me. I work 50 hours a week, my employer doesn't pay me for my breakfast, my lunch, or my dinner if I have to work late. And they certainly don't provide my snacks. Why is a nanny position different?

Well let's see....
What's your annual gross?

Doesn't matter, PP.

Of course it doesn't matter to you. Stop being such a cheapskate and buy the stupid food the nanny eats. Will it really break the bank?

It's a job, not a charity.

It's a job, not a charity.

And you should be a responsible employer, not the nanny's charity case.

If you can't afford to buy food for the nanny at your house, you can't afford a nanny.

I can afford it. I don't think I should have to give her a meal stipend. That seems like a bizarre perk.

Most parents simply tell the nanny to help herself and add to the list. You don't have to if the nanny prefers to bring in her own groceries.

No, "most parents" don't do this. You have no idea what most parents do and there is no normal on this issue.

Nickel and Diming your kid's nanny is nothing to be proud of.

Don't see how OP is doing that. If you want free food so damn bad, go to a food bank.

Aren't you a creative thinker. Would you care if your skinny nanny had to do that?
