Family Vacation and Au Pair Work Schedule

the au pair program is a cultural exchange program - taking au pairs on vacation, if you can afford the extra seat/room/meals/etc., allows them to see more of the country and should be fun for all involved b/c it allows the parents to get a little vacation time (dinner out, etc.) and helps with all the real challenges (avoiding drowning, sand eating, dealing with crowds, cranky kids and nap schedules). And in my experience, the kids really enjoy spending time with the pair too. I think it's fun to see the country, new places and the ones I know well, through the eyes of an au pair. I always gain new insights into our culture and I learn about hers. This is a great program.
