We are on our 6th Au pair.2 fabulous females, 2 females sent home and on our 2nd Fantastic male Au Pair.
We are a loyal male au pair family now. They have more energy, are less emotional, and more cooperative. They are a great match for our 2 active boys. Look at the fathers, coaches and male teachers in your lives. Are men any less capable of taking great care of children???? If you are going on statistics- physical and emotional abuse and child neglect are much more common problems than sexual abuse and more common with female care takers( and sadly mothers). Statistically Florida is in the top 10 states of registered sexual offenders.... better not take the kids to Disney! Whom ever you hire, they need to be fully vetted, and make sure that they have good values and are a good match for your family regardless of their gender. Choose a great au pair for the person, not the statistics... otherwise your could be cheating your kids of a rewarding low stress intercultural experience. |
Our female AP has at least six male AP friends that she found easily in our cluster or on Facebook. Seems like there are tons of males now. I wouldn't worry about them not having friends at all. |
I have a male nanny for my daughter. He's been with us over a year and a half. |
How old is your daughter? |
She's 2. |
