I have noticed that most local schools have switched over to Clarity for their financial aid service.
Does this service protect more from the potential fraud mentioned on other threads since it pulls tax forms directly from the irs? Did anybody have FA change with the change of service? Any other pros/ cons/comments about using Clarity? |
| Do anyone know? |
| Clarity pulls tax transcripts directly from the IRS which is a good thing. |
| OP, yes you won't be able to get away with your fraud for any longer. |
| It’s also an easier application. |
| I like it |
WTH are you talking about? |
| I’m applying for financial aid for 3 different schools and they all use different financial aid services. It would be amazing if they could all use the same one especially if it pulls from the IRS data- so much simpler. |
| Will this coordinate between schools that use it? Right now schools have no idea what another one is giving or not giving. |
I was shocked how much easier it is than SSS. |
I was wondering this. Like if it would benchmark it, for example "at area schools similar family profiles have given x%-xx% of aid with the median amount being x%" I think that would be very helpful for schools |
Right now there is no coordination between schools. I.e. if you have kids at 3 different schools they have no idea how much you're getting at each one unless they pick up the phone and call. They also all have very different cut-offs because they have very different financial aid budgets. i'm curious how this will work with Clarify. |
Clarity makes SSS look even more antiquated than it already did. Thank God our school switched. |
| Last year Clarity was buggy. I think I had 3-4 different support requests for one FA application. Hopefully all has been ironed out for this year’s applications. SSS/TADS is stodgy but I never experienced software bugs. |
| SSS specifically asks for gifts we receive from family over the year, but Clarity only asks for contributions towards tuition from family. I don't see any separate place for monetary gifts from family. Am I missing something or do we just not include that? |
