Where do you go in Naviance to see how many kids are applying from your class to a certain school |
Menu—Colleges—Scattergrams |
Ours does not show current applications. It shows past applications. Specifically, my kids' naviance says it is showing results from 2022. |
This is what I do:
1. Log into Naviance 2. Click Colleges -> College Lookup 3. Change Lookup By to Keyword 4. Enter College Name 5. Click College Name 6. Click Admissions Instead of steps 2-4, you can also go to Collges -> Colleges I'm Applying To and clicking on College Name from the list. There will be a bar chart showing how many kids are applying in 2024. |
It will only show this at our school if they’re at least three applicants I believe. One or two only never show. |
Oh, ok. It sounds like your counselor isn’t updating Naviance then. If you feel comfortable, i would put in an email or call? My kid’s Naviance is showing 2024 application data. |
NP here - This was helpful! Does the information come from the school counselors? I ask b/c the Michigan thread made me look it up and it shows no one was admitted last year. However, the class IG page definitely tells a different story. The same is true for a lottery California school. |
I wonder if it's an option they can turn on and off. There is a lot of good data in there, but, unfortunately, not that bit of info. |
It varies by school. For a lot of schools it’s self-reported, so if students don’t update in Naviance, they won’t show up. Naviance also has a minimum required number of students to show data. I believe it’s five at our school. So if fewer than five are admitted in a year, it won’t be in the bar chart (although it might show up in the Scattergram, which does not allow you to sort by year, or it doesn’t at our school). |
The kids self report to the school which universities admitted them. It sounds like the kids wanted to let friends know on IG but didn't bother to tell the school. |
How come my Naviance doesn't have the 2024 bar graphs? |
Schools customize naviance differently |
Are the GPAs listed in Naviance end of junior year or senior year grades? |
In DCPS, it's whatever is most current. So, looking at it now, you're seeing all end of senior year. As acceptances come in for class of 24, it will show end of junior year for those students until they graduate, at which point it will be updated with end of senior year grades. |
I checked for my younger, and I don't see my older kid's spots on the scattergrams at all for any of the schools. |
