If you were Maria Shriver, would you regret divorcing Arnold?

I didn't want this in the entertainment forum.

Would you today regret divorcing Arnold for fathering a son with the housekeeper?

I wonder what would have happened if Maria forgave him, and they were still together as a family unit.

Arnold has a girlfriend. I'm not sure about Maria having a boyfriend. They just seemed very in love in the beginning. And Arnold seemed genuinely sorry. He told in his autobiographical documentary how Maria asked the marriage counselor to ask Arnold during one of their sessions if he was Joseph's father. And he said yes. When he tells this story, he seems so remorseful.

I think I would have forgiven him.

Ewww, no, I would not regret it.

It’s easy to say what you think you would have done. I divorced my husband for tinder flings - it’s impossible for me to imagine how much worse your husband having a BABY with someone else would be.

She still looks good, she’s got plenty of money, if I was in the same position I’d be gone and I’d never look back.

The man was groping women before this affair. He is disgusting.

Absolutely would not regret the divorce. Who cares that he has a girlfriend? He'd also have a girlfriend if they were still married, do you not get that?

They took 10 years to divorce. I think she got what she wanted and needed from the marriage.

I know people can forgive infidelity under certain circumstances. But in this case there is always a whole human as reminder that he cheated. I think having a child would be pretty unforgivable to most people.

No way. He probably did a lot more than that. No need to be humiliated your whole life.

No.

Maria fell in love with him the way he was. I don't think Arnold is a disgusting man who hurt women. He at least apologized for his past. He started out as a body builder, on stage in nothing more than a bikini. He was in an environment in the 1970s in LA that was probably different than today. There were no accusations of him committing any crimes against women.

The scale and length of the deceit would NEVER make me look back.

Who cares who she is dating (or not)?

Nope, not for 1 second.

She is living her best life!

Also she forgave him, but forgiveness doesn’t mean I will stay married and have sex with you.

Grow up.

He admits to creepy groping.

Uh no, she shouldn’t regret it and he should be remorseful. What I took away from the story was that she was willing to look the other way on a whole lot of his selfish behavior, including his affairs and their life always being about his career, but he went to far when he couldn’t be bothered to be discreet and prevent himself from conceiving another child.

The only thing that’s regrettable here is how he single handedly destroyed his marriage and broke up his family.
