We will have 10 visits total, for $22 a visit. Should I tip 20% of that?
Thanks. |
I think most services give pay the sitter about half of what they're charging you. So think about what you're asking for and how much more than $11 you think it's worth. |
I used rover recently and this particular boarding person was more expensive than the rest. The site sent tip/review request. Do others tip For Rover services? |
I don't know about 50, but most services take 20-30% (I know Rover takes 20% or 25% in some states). Irrespective of costs, if the sitter was good, sent good photos, updates and was responsive, then I would tip 20%. |
I always tip 20% (occasionally more) for pet related services. The way I see it, I want people to be reliable and caring when it comes to my pets, so I'll do whatever I can to ensure that.
My dog walkers are with a service (KSR in VA, and they are great) and they get 20% tip added to the cost of each walk. When I go out of town and have dog/house sitters from the same service I tip 20% (which ends up being a lot). When an acquaintance who dog sits stayed with my pets while I was out of town, I didn't tip her but that was because I paid her the full amount I would have paid the service and it was twice her normal asking rate. Dog groomer gets 20% tip on grooms. Groomers that trim my dog's nails get $5. The regular walker also gets a holiday bonus of $100 tucked into a card signed by the dogs, lol. |
I always tip hugely for pet services that are good, for repeat purposes. |
WTH is a "professional" cat sitter. Your 11 year old neighbor can cat sit. |
Absolutely not.. Rover is a freelance service. You are directly paying the worker their requested price. |
I pay my neighbors $20 per visit for my 2 cats. Feed, water, clean litter boxes (2) and sweep up any extra litter. I ask them to please stay 1/2 hour. I would prefer twice a day but I can't afford that.
some of them don't want to charge me but I tell them just use it for your kids' Christmas fund. |
I don't tip the pet sitter. I also don't tip the baby sitter. We agreed on a price and I'm paying it. |
I don’t tip either. |
This is incorrect. Rover takes a cut. I didn’t tip my sitter, but then started sitting and got a few tips - they were much appreciated but not expected. |
Inaccurate. Rover takes 20-25% of the petsitters "requested price." |
