Curious if this still happens in today’s day and age. |
You make the reservation under a fake name but check in on your own. Source: I used to book hotel rooms for someone famous. |
People do it for them. |
You have a fake ID and pay cash for the room. I do this and am not a celebrity. |
This. They have assistants who may even check in before they arrive to be sure everything is the way they want it. |
I used to have a celebrity who used Winnie Thepooh as their alias. We kept that name on the room for their entire stay. They were in town about every 6 weeks so we just knew who it was and didn’t ask questions. |
I’ve checked in under other peoples names before. Haven’t you ever met a friend at a hotel and the reservation is under their name, but you get there first so you check in with your ID and CC on file? Also, if someone is famous enough to need an alias for a hotel room, I would imagine they’re not the one discussing the alias with a random desk clerk. |
My celeb friend uses an alias and checks herself in, the alias is for safety reasons but she doesn’t care if the hotel staff know who she really is. |
Are you on the run? Why on earth do you use a fake ID for a hotel? |
They don’t book their own hotel rooms. I’ve worked for different varieties of very wealthy people for a long time, but not specifically celebrities. They have people do this for them. |
Why else would a man do this?? |
My admin used to book hotels for me on company credit card. Her reservation.
If canceled or change she take care of it and no T&E for me and she had my Marriott and Hilton points info. It is not like Joe Biden or the Pope are calling hotels and using their credit card to book a hotel |
The hotels know the celeb is staying there. They just don’t give out the info. |
To hook up with his AP? |
Their legal name is different. The name you and I know is a DBA ( doing business as). They buy airline tickets and check in under their real legal name.
