| I'm interested in traveling to Colombia with my spouse. Anyone been? Would love any info you have to give-thanks! |
| Yes it’s a wonderful country. Spend some time in Bogota for sure. Don’t waste your time in Cartagena. That’s a tourist trap and cruise ship destination. |

Did a few weekend trip to Bogota for work. Mild to chilly temps for what seems to be most of the year. Very city like. Good food.
For our first trip as a couple I am looking at Cartagena, Baru, and San Andres. We like warm islands! https://www.sofitelbarucalablanca.com/ https://luxuryhotel.guru/san-andres/ My husband is kinda meh on it, but we are going. |
| As you can see everyone has their preferences^^ |

We (myself, my spouse, and our teenage son) went right before Covid, over New Years 2019-20.
We stayed a few days in Medellin and LOVED it. We took a couple day tours; one was a walking tour of Comuna 13 and the cable cars. The other was a day trip out to Guatape and also visiting a coffee plantation. I tried to remember/research the exact name of our tour guides/companies and unfortunately couldn't find them--I'll keep checking and will post again if I find them. I remember I just found them on TripAdvisor. We then went to Bogota for a few days. I didn't love Bogota as much as Medellin, but it was a good base to do a couple day trips. The Salt Cathedral was really nice seeing. We went hiking in Chicaque Natural park and enjoyed that too. In general, I really liked Colombia and would definitely recommend it. |
PP above here. I found the name of the Medellin tour company I would recommend. It's called Super Tours Medellin. That is who we did the Comuna 13 tour with. We used a different tour company for Guatape, but we liked Super Tours Medellin better, and it looks like they also do a Guatape tour. |
