Age guy needs to stop looking for ways to play against younger players
Thats kind of interesting.

2010s born after 8/1 are most likely to be Juniors or Sophomores. Which is why below is mathematically correct.
Still 100% correct.
This is for next fall when SY starts.
11v11 = U18/U19 = ≤ 8/1/2007 ≈ Senior
11v11 = U17 = ≤ 8/1/2009 ≈ Senior
11v11 = U16 = ≤ 8/1/2010 ≈ Junior
11v11 = U15 = ≤ 8/1/2011 ≈ Sophmore
11v11 = U14 = ≤ 8/1/2012 ≈ Freshman
11v11 = U13 = ≤ 8/1/2013 ≈ 8th grade
9v9/11v11 = U12 = ≤ 8/1/2014 ≈ 7th grade
9v9 = U11 = ≤ 8/1/2015 ≈ 6th grade
9v9 = U10 = ≤ 8/1/2016 ≈ 5th grade
7v7 = U9 = ≤ 8/1/2017 ≈ 4th grade
7v7 = U8 = ≤ 8/1/2018 ≈ 3rd grade
4v4 = U7 = ≤ 8/1/2019 ≈ 2nd grade
4v4 = U6 = ≤ 8/1/2020 ≈ 1st grade
4v4 = U5 = ≤ 8/1/2020 ≈ Kindergarten
Using U14 as an example what this is saying is...
1. They play 11v11
2. Players turn 14 after Aug 1
3. Players are younger than or equal to 8/1/2012
4. Players are most likely in 8th grade or Freshman

Its always the same with the play downers and hold back people. They try do make it sound like playing against younger players is no big deal. When in reality they're stealing correct grade players opportunities.
If the kids literally are the same age, it's not cheating OR stealing. And if you favor the kids in the younger grade, you are cheating OR stealing opportunities from that kid who's in the higher grade.
The club needs to help them BOTH. Not favor one over the other. These clubs are selling platforms to college coaches which means making sure ALL players get the exposure they need. The better they are at that, the more they succeed. That's why they're willing to be flexible.
All you want to do is play down older players against younger ones. Stealing younger players opportunities.
I'm for doing what's BEST for EACH player. That might be playing up OR playing on age. Case-by-case. If you want clubs instead to force inflexible rules on people, what comes around goes around eventually.
No you're not. You're about hiding behind the rules and waiting for whatever opportunity you see to try and push your play down agenda. Too bad its not going to work here.
Pretty evident for anyone not trying to hide behind the rules trying to make their Sept kid the oldest.
"Here" plays by the same rules as everyone else. Over time clubs even "here" will start playing playing Aug birthdays on their grade in school team because its easier and solves all kinds of issues.
Back to your solving non existent problems narrative I see
1 Clubs don't have a problem today based on kids DOB or month only
2 There is and won't be any such thing as a grade in school team in club soccer. Not even HS has grade in school teams, only Varsity and Junior Varsity
Then why go through changing from BY to SY. If grade in school doesnt exist?
Seasonal Year has nothing to do with School Grade
If there was such a thing as grade in school groupings, they would have dropped U6, U10, U16 and replaced with 5th Grade, 8th Grade.
They didn't. Why? Because grade in school groupings doesn't exist in club soccer.
Dude everyone literally said that they're changing from BY to SY so theres less trapped players.
Try and explain what a trapped player is without acknowledging grade in school.
Playing on age is a 12 month window and limits playing older players with younger players. Forcing kids up an age group is playing older players against younger ones stealing the younger players opportunities and is a safety issue while also pushing forced kids up to quit.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:You keep saying this but I am gonna side with ECNL dude. He has real reasons to play on age for regular season rather than a vague "solves all kinds of issues." FYI, grouping based on 2 criteria is much more difficult than one, DOB.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Here playing up as a choice isn't allowed and playing up is rare and reserved for the best on a case by case basis as decided by clubs based on talent. Of course you're going to side with the guy abvocating playing older players against younger ones stealing the younger players opportunities.
