Why did the Mayor of Charlottesville not allow his police department to protect the citizens when the violence started?

I hope every single victim of violence that day, sues that Democrat Mayor of Charlottesville.

That's what they're doing across the country, where the cops were ordered by liberal mayors, to standby and watch the violence, "until there seems to be imminent death".

We are all Americans and need to stand united for the core values of our country. We can argue about the policies around the edges when our country isn't in immediate crisis.


Please convince other Trump supporters that there's no shame in repudiating him and those in the GOP who enabled him. Unfortunately, many of your other fellow Trump voters won't listen to anyone on the other side of the aisle because they "hate liberals." They need to see the change happening among their own.

It's better to correct course than stubbornly stick by Trump because it means admitting they were wrong. Remind them that pride cometh before the fall.

Thank you for saying this. Some people might say "you made your bed" or "told you so" or whatever vitriol they can think of. But I do think it makes a difference when people find their line crossed, and can admit it. It takes guts to admit you made a mistake, and to continue to speak out and try to persuade others.

If it's true, he would have the burden to prove, as a defense, that he was experiencing a psychotic episode and did not know the difference between right and wrong at the time of the crash.

Just having a mental illness is not an automatic defense that absolves someone of criminal liability. He would have to prove he was currently experiencing symptoms, not just that in high school or in the army he did. It's pretty complicated.

My prediction


The fact that he hightailed it out of there in reverse at high speed means that he knows what he did was wrong. End of the insanity defense.

In real life, that's how a panic attack looks behind the wheel.

Such a fast acceleration that people fly in the air and a loud sound of metal on metal is heard? Then sped like hell in reverse with shoes stuck into your grill? But mysteriously your airbags don't go off??? Maybe you had them disabled so they wouldn't inflate and prevent you from getting away. No. Don't even try to go there. That is not a panic attack. It's murder


Charlottesville PD initially gave him the benefit of doubt but after investigating and gathering the facts, they then said it was premeditated murder. That's what they are now going after him for. The "panic attack" story is long gone, no longer credible.
