that's last year -- this year's are 2017
Didn't happen yet.
The Virginia teams that won State Cup for this seasonal year are heading to the 2017 Region 1 Championship, so when that Region 1 link updates it's list they will be listed as "2017" State Cup champs

Except they aren't in here posting though are they. Perhaps they care, but likely they don't care at all in the big picture but the parents certainly care more. And the fact is, State Cup isn't what it used to be anymore.
When all of the talent used to be concentrated in single league play, things were much tougher. When all of the best players were playing in the State Cup, winning the State Cup meant something.
Nowadays there is no prestige left.
Good points. Any kid who does not make it into a DA should just quit playing soccer and wasting time and field space. And all high school soccer is pretty much pointless - none of those players are going anywhere. Could just save time and money by getting rid of the sport. And don't even get me started on those middle aged Latino guys playing "futbal" on fields when they are open - get a life already!

Winning State cup when neither DA nor ECNL participates = "who cares"
Bingo....Who ever you are, you deserve a drink on the house. Top teams are no longer participating so, being state cup or some of these other tournaments really means you are the best of what is left.
According to every thread on DCUM about youth soccer in Virginia, all the teams and all the leagues are for shit. ODP is shit, DA is shit, ECNL is shit, Super-Y is shit, Washington Spirit is shit, DC United is shit, all the local clubs are shit, the coaches are shit, the TDs are shit, the parents are shit, the kids are shit........there is no true perspective on this forum of what is "the best" and what is shit, because the majority input here is that it ALL just shit.
